BlaBlaBla is a project by Lorenzo Bravi originally developed in 2010 as an iOS app, now available as a webApp thanks to Centro Zaffiria (project “E se diventi farfalla”, selected by Con I Bambini within the fund for counter-actions against child educational poverty).

This app is largely used in speech therapy, especially with young children (aged 0-3 years) and with autistic people and stroke patients. Some interesting activities can be developed with children in order to exploring non verbal communication, face expression and emotion.

The interaction is really simple and intuitive: the masks react to the audio captured by the microphone of your device, so, while you are speaking, the face expression changes following the volume of your voice. The app doesn’t record any sound from your microphone, it just detect volume intensity in realtime.
